Mission Statement

Ryan Covert grew up in Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Ryan’s culinary journey began at the early age of 15 when he began working as line chef at the Proud Peacock restaurant. His talents and passion for cuisine inspired him to graduated early from high school to pursue his career in the Culinary Industry. Chef Ryan was accepted to the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, Florida where he received his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts.

Upon graduation, Ryan returned to Hawaii where he has held several positions within the industry including Director of Restaurants at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel (2002-2005), followed by being the Private Chef of the “FIGHTING IRISH” a privately owned yacht that sails around the world (2006-2007) with exclusive guests.

In 2007, Ryan Covert established his elite private chef company on Honolulu called Covert Affairs LLC. His company specializes in creating unique, memorable and delicious dinning occasions for both locals and visitors. From intimate dinners to elegant events, Ryan’s style and charisma shines bright through his use of fresh seasonal meal preparations, artistic plating, wine and menu pairing, and stellar service for each dinning affair, making him the private chef Hawaii prefers.

Ryan is a featured chef from KTA Super Stores on the Big Island as well as for Diamond Bakery Hawaii’s leader in Cracker & Hawaiian Cookies since 1921. You can read his published recipes throughout the year at KTA or at our news blog.
